As the 2010 spring
sports program begins, there are plenty of opportunities for
people to serve as coaches and team parents. Coaches and Team
Parents are vital to a successful season and will receive a
seasonal information handbook, training information and
devotionals to use throughout the season.
Frequently Asked Questions:
• What if I have never coached before?
Answer: Don’t worry - every attempt will be made to team you
with a coach that does have previous Teeball or Coach Pitch
Baseball experience.
• How much of a time commitment is it to coach?
Answer:
Teams practice one night a week for one hour and play
one game a week for one hour. The season runs about 7-8 weeks
long, with the end-of-season AwardZones held during the first
full week of June before school dismisses for summer.
• What is involved in being the Team Parent?
Answer: The Team Parent for each team plays an important role in Sports
Ministry. In addition to organizing snacks and drinks for
practices and games, the Team Parent will be Bethlehem’s primary
source for communicating with all the families on the team, with
particular attention to those that do not attend church
anywhere. You will be provided with materials about Bethlehem
and its various ministries to distribute to these “All Star
guest” families throughout the season.
